Fatty Amine Salts
The principle uses of the fatty amine salts are in ore-flotation,
corrosion ihibition and wetting. They are rarely marketed on their own,
rather in propritery formulations.
The development of the pH insensitive cationic surfactants allowed much
wider use of this technology. The quaternary amine is a strong hydrophile,
making these good surfactants. They are primarily used in domestic
fabric-softeners, as the positively charged hydophilic head tends to
interact strongly with negatively charged fabric fibres.
